2D codes as Datamatrix code (DMC) or QR Code (QRC) is now widely used in industry forproduct traceability. Like the barcode, it helps prevent human error and allows the recording of large information in a very small surface: 30x times smaller than a barcode. Integrated with the powder without laser sintering equipment modification, the complex optical tracer (derived from
nanotechnology) provides a simple, robust, economical and unobtrusive solution for authentification and anticounterfeiting. Invisible to the naked eye, the tracer returns a unique signature when excited at a specific wavelength. Developed in partnership with NAOMARQ (ALCEN Group), this process offers a complete and ready for use solution including the formulation of powders, laser sintering equipment and detection equipment (spectrometer).
